After leaving school Alec trained as a chef at college but decided he couldn't stand all the washing up and eventually managed to slip in the back door at BBC Radio Lancashire in 1989.
An interest in creating art for his own enjoyment has always run along side Alec's career in the media and journalism.
After working in a number of mediums, the inspiration to create art by fusing glass was born. Over the years the work of experimentation and development of tools and techniques, using the beautiful but sometimes unpredicatable nature of glass has continued.
His passion is to create hand crafted, original, fused glass art works. Each piece being made totally from glass, individually designed and created using a multi-layered approach. Using a variety of high quality coloured opaque and transparent glass, the art work is kiln fired multiple times. This ensures the finished work is one unified piece of glass, that is three dimensional, unique and original.
