Born in Albania and now a British Citizen, Andrian Melka studied Art and Sculpture from the age of 10, graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana in 1994.
He spent two years copying antique heads and reliefs in a marble workshop before moving to England in a Getty scholarship in 1997. In 1998 he worked as a Head Sculptor with renowned carver Dick Reid, alongside several great designers and architects on many high profile commissions. In 2003 Andrian opened his own studio outside York, where he takes on commissions ranging from landscape sculpture to interior art.
Many of his works draw on classical stories and characters and have included Battle of the Centaurs for Lord Rothschild, Neptune for Lord Black, Medici Venus for Chiswick House Gardens, Spirit of the Ocean fountain in Santa Barbara, Andrian has even worked on behalf of HRH The Prince of Wales!
